Fishing seminars available in the Leavenworth/Kansas City area

The Ft Leavenworth Rod and Gun Club is hosting a series of fishing seminars this summer/winter. These seminars are open to the general public and for all skill levels. We did a smaller schedule last year and had a good turnout. These are family friendly so bring the kids along if they enjoy fishing. They start at 6pm and are on ft Leavenworth at the Rod and Gun Club clubhouse. You will need a picture ID to get on base. See the dates/topics below.

18 Feb Where to fish? Bill Horvath/Larry Stoafer
This seminar will discuss were the best fishing locations are in our area. We will let you know where the best local, city, county, state, and Corps of Engineer managed waters are and which are best for each specific species. This seminar will be essential in helping you plan your upcoming fishing trips.

4 Mar Walleye fishing local waters Bill Frederick
This seminar will discuss the best walleye catching techniques on our regional waters and the best places and times to catch them. If you want to learn to catch more and better quality walleye this is the seminar for you.

23 Mar Bass fishing local waters during the pre-spawn Larry Stoafer/Bob Greene
This seminar will discuss the best bass catching techniques on our regional waters during the early spring. We will show you were to find pre-spawn fish and the best lures and presentations to use to catch them. This is the best time to be on the water if you want a chance at catching a trophy.

15 Apr Bass fishing local waters during the spawn Larry Stoafer/Bob Greene
This seminar will discuss the best bass catching techniques on our regional waters during the spring spawn. We will show you were to find spawning fish and the best lures and presentations to use to catch them. Seeing a fish on the bed is a really neat thing but learning how to catch them is even better.

29 Apr Crappie fishing Bob Jorgensen
This seminar will discuss the best crappie catching techniques on our regional waters. Bob will show you were to find those big slabs fish and the best lures and presentations to use to catch them. Just in time for the Spring Crappiethon; Bob will teach you how to have those 100-150 fish days.

13 May Bass fishing local waters during the post spawn and summer Larry Stoafer/Bob Greene
This seminar will discuss the best bass catching techniques on our regional waters during the post spawn and summer months. We will show you were to find post spawn fish and those summer fish. We will discuss the lures and presentations to use to catch them. After the spawn bass head back to their deep water haunts learn how to find them and catch them.

27 May Catfish fishing local waters Bob Jorgenson
This seminar will discuss the best catfish catching techniques on our regional waters and the best places and times to catch them. There are lots of them and the make great table fare, learn how to put some big cats in a Crisco bath.

10 Jun Tournament Fishing Bob Greene/Larry Stoafer
This seminar will discuss local and regional tournament fishing opportunities and provide the tournament fishing basics for the beginning tournament angler. There are a lot of opportunities to try you hand at this competitive exhilarating sport in the area. We will teach you what you need to know to give it a try.
